About this variety
Kadamba Tree (Neolamarckia cadamba) is a fast-growing tropical tree with large glossy leaves, a rounded crown, and distinctive spherical yellow-orange flower heads.
Also known as: Kadam, Kadamb, Burflower tree, Laran, Leichhardt pine, Jabon, Vellai kadambu, Kadambe and Anthocephalus cadamba.
For cultivation, choose a warm, humid, bright position with room for a broad shade canopy as the tree matures. Use a fertile, moisture-retentive but well-draining mix; young plants should not be allowed to dry completely. Freshly sown containers should have drainage and good air movement. Natural seed lots vary, so emergence speed and the number of seedlings depend on pretreatment, temperature, moisture, and the grower's conditions.
Seed starting: These seeds are very small. Scatter them over a level moist surface, press gently without deep covering, and keep at 22–30°C in bright filtered light. Label the container with the sowing date, keep it out of standing water, and check moisture regularly. Do not discard a sound pot simply because individual seeds emerge at different times.
After emergence, Mist carefully or water from below to avoid washing seed away. Vent the tray, maintain warmth, and transplant small groups or individual seedlings only when they can be handled without crushing. Neolamarckia cadamba is also widely known under the botanical synonym Anthocephalus cadamba.
Seeds are intended for propagation. Before planting outdoors, confirm that the species and your growing method are suitable for your climate, available space, and local rules.
